Security sleuths have found names, addresses and phone numbers of some persons in a seized laptop of Maoist leader Kishenji and are verifying the same to unearth possible links of the top Naxalite.
"We have recovered some names, phone numbers and addresses from the laptop and we are verifying the details. There is some other information also, but these cannot be divulged," West Bengal Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen told reporters here today.
Asked how Kishenji was always a step ahead of the police, Sen replied, "It is not possible for me to tell you the reason. There are many reasons and each time the reason is different, but we will be able to nab him," he said.
Kishenji escaped arrest, but the police and central para-military forces at a jungle in West Midnapore district seized his laptop and headphones during an operation on January 20.
Asked about the deployment of para-military forces in Maoist-hit areas, Sen said that the six companies of the forces were withdrawn because of assembly elections in Jharkhand and would be redeployed soon.
Sen, accompanied by DGP Bhupinder Singh had earlier called on Governor M K Narayanan at the Raj Bhavan.
"It was general briefing on law and order, but special mention was made of the situation in Lalgarh," Sen said.
Asked whether the governor gave any suggestions, he replied, "we exchanged ideas and it was nothing more than that."
