Spurious liquor kills six, 18 other critical in Burdwan

Six people died and 30 others fell ill after allegedly consuming spurious liquor at a village near Galsi here, police said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at Ramgopalpur village of the district on Monday, a police official said.

The sick were taken to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital and Pursha Hospital for treatment, he said.

The condition of 18 people is stated to be serious, the officer said.
