Lok Sabha elections 2019: BJP ally NDPP holds lone Nagaland constituency

Tokheho Yepthomi of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDDP) defeated the Naga People’s Front (NPF)candidate C Apok Jamir in 2018 by-poll.

Tokheho Yepthomi of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), a BJP ally, is the sitting member of Parliament from Nagaland Lok Sabha seat, the only parliamentary constituency in Nagaland.

Tokheho Yepthomi contested the by-poll in 2018 after the then sitting MP Neiphiu Rio resigned to become the northeastern state’s chief minister. Yepthomi defeated the Naga People’s Front (NPF)candidate C Apok Jamir.

Yepthomi has been fielded again by the NDPP and will be up against Congress candidate KL Chishi, Hayithung Tungoe of National People’s Party (NPP) and MM Thromwa Konyak of Indian Christian Secular Party (ICSP) in the Lok Sabha election 2019.
