Ranjeet Ranjan of Congress won the seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, defeating Dileshwar Kamait of the Janata Dal (United) by more than 23.000 votes.

Supaul Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 40 parliamentary constituencies in Bihar in eastern India. This constituency came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamenatary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted in 2002.

There were 1,525,592 electorate in the Supaul Lok Sabha Constituency in the 2014 elections, out of which 796,979 are male and the remaining 728,613 are female.

According to the estimates of the 2011 census, out of total 2,229,076 population, there were 1,155,283 males and 1,073,793 females in Supaul district.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections was 63.62%.
