Don’t talk to media or organise protest, TCS staff told

The Lucknow and Bengaluru centres of TCS were launched 33 years back. But the company did not allow the Lucknow centre to grow beyond 2,000 seats while in Bengaluru TCS had over 50,000 seats at present, alleged the staff.

Employees of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Tuesday alleged that the company’s top HR officials asked them not to talk to the media or organise any protest against the IT major’s decision to shift Lucknow staff to other centres.

Corporate business HR head, DP Nambiar along with another official, Nagraj Hijari told staff at the Lucknow office of TCS that the company’s decision was irreversible and the employees would be taken care of at the new centre as per its policy, claimed employees.

However, Nambiar was not able to explain why the Lucknow centre was not allowed to grow beyond 2,000 seats in the last 33 years and why it was not given due opportunities by the company despite generating good business, said the employees.

“The step-motherly treatment to the Uttar Pradesh capital continued because of an anti-UP lobby in the company’s management,” added TCS employees.

TCS employees have decided to step up their efforts to retain the Lucknow centre and plan to meet leaders of opposition parties in this regard.
