The BSP president said the "political deal" between SP and Congress was "against the healthy and clean democratic traditions and the people of the country would teach both the parties a befitting lesson in coming Lok Sabha elections".

She claimed that as per her information, SP would support the govenrment from outside and later try to get CBI cases pending against the party chief, his relatives and friends dropped.

Dismissing the recent remarks by the SP chief on the nuclear deal as "continued drama", Mayawati said he had been issuing statements which were "unbecoming" of him.

The UPA government, Mayawati said, should have strived for a consensus on the issue by taking all political parties and the people of the country into confidence but it chose to do otherwise and this has dragged the deal into controversy and today the government faces a threat following its tiff with Left parties on the matter.
