Three arrested in UP for human trafficking
The Special Task Force arrests three persons from Aliganj area in Etah district for allegedly running a human trafficking racket.
Three persons were arrested on Friday from Aliganj area in Etah district for allegedly running a human trafficking racket.
"Acting on a tip-off, the Special Task Force arrested Osama Shobra, Mohammad Sheebu and Mohammad Rizvan and seized 59 passports, suspected to be fake, laptops, photographs, visa copies and other items from them," Additional Director General, Law and Order, Brijlal said.
"The trio had illegally sent over 100 people to gulf countries on temporary work visas," he said.
"The arrested are suspected to have links with officials of some embassies from which they arrange tourist visas for their clients and take hefty amount from them," he added.
Interrogation of these persons suggest that they were also involved in preparing fake passports and visas.
"The passports recovered from them are issued from West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and UP," Brijlal said, adding that investigation was on to trace whereabouts of other members of the gang.
