How many of us have been told to wear black to look thinner? Or become the subject of jokes for being too thin? Or spent days starving ourselves to fit society’s idea of ‘perfect’? Body shaming is a truth that exists in society and goes beyond class, caste, race and gender.

The photoshoot proved to be a confidence building exercise for the couple. “I honestly have never felt more attractive,” Stephanie told HuffPost. “I was so nervous to see the final result. I didn’t know what to expect. But when I saw the album, I was shocked. I look so in love and confident. Every person should be able to see themselves in that light. It is really eye-opening.”

The photoshoot got over 8,000 people confessing in the comment section how they wished they were as comfortable and confident as the couple, with their bodies. Some users commented saying the pictures were one of the most insipiring and beautiful ones they had come across.

Society has set rules for bigger women to not wear crop tops, tight shirts, shorter dresses and shorts. Stephanie wanted to break that mold and do what she loved. “Over the years, I’ve come to accept that I am always going to be considered plus-size. I push myself out of my comfort zone by wearing clothes that I love. I walk around with my head high, smiling, and show no shame in myself,” she told HuffPost.

Body positivity is unlearning the idea that only certain bodies are worth acceptance, praise and love. It is recognizing that all bodies are equally valuable. So go, celebrate yourself. You’re beautiful.
