Union minister and RPI chief Ramdas Athawale has already demanded strict action against these elements whom he described as anti-nationals. “They should be arrested for their anti-national act and stringent sections imposed on them,” said Athawale.

On Thursday afternoon, a fringe group by the name of Azad Sena was seen demonstrating at Parliament Street in Delhi. According to eyewitnesses, they burnt a copy of the Constitution as well as shouted slogans against Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, who is referred as the architect of the constitution. The Delhi police swung into action and lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against Azad Sena under the section of Prevention of Insults to the National Honour act.

In December last year, when Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde spoke of changing the Constitution, there was wide spread condemnation that Hegde was forced to retract his words and said he was misunderstood.
