The Air India pilots’ strike, which entered its third day on Friday, is unlikely to end over the weekend. The agitation resulted in 76 flight cancellations in and out of Mumbai on Friday.

The airline could operate only 39 out of its 320 flights across the country.

The number of pilots sacked for participating in the strike reached 85. The striking union said its members were prepared to go to jail, but refused to resume work unless their demands were met.
