CBSE’s ‘inadvertent error’ in announcing JEE third rank holder
The central board misspelt the name of Rajesh Bansal from New Delhi’s Sanskriti School and issued a clarification on Friday
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday sent out a clarification stating that the third rank holder in JEE (Mains) examinations is Rajas Bansal from New Delhi’s Sanskriti School.
The press release circulated by the CBSE on Thursday had mentioned the third ranker was ‘Rajesh’ Bansal, which the board called an ‘inadvertent’ error.
Sriram Balasubramanian from Nerul, Navi Mumbai, secured the fourth position in JEE (Mains) exam, the results of which were released on Thursday evening.
The top three ranks were bagged by Dipanshu Jindal, Pratush Maini and Rajas Bansal, all from Delhi. The girl topper, with an all-India rank of 11, is Ryali Gayathri from Hyderabad.
The all-India rankings are based on their JEE Main score (60% weightage) and Class 12 scores (40% weightage). Admissions to BE and BTech courses in engineering institutions like NITs, IITs are made on the basis of these rankings.
Around 11,28,000 students, who appeared for the test in April, are eligible for the joint seat allocation process, registrations for which began at 10am on Friday. Apart from IITs, the admission process will also cover IITs and NITs.
