Niki Shah, a Charni road resident alleged that she was robbed from a taxi near the Metro junction on Wednesday afternoon, soon after she had collected jewellery from the Kalbadevi branch of Bank of India. The LT Marg police, who are investigating the Rs 2.74 lakh robbery, said they are still scanning footage from the CCTV camera.

“We did not see anyone entering the taxi in the footage that has been scanned. Since cameras belong to the traffic division of Mumbai police, the scanning of remaining footages is underway at the Worli traffic headquarters.”

Police said they are awaited Shah’s medical reports. Shah had alleged that the accused attacked her on the wrist with a knife. Officials are also trying to trace the accused and are questioning her about the sequence of events on Wednesday.

“We are still scanning the CCTV footage and the investigation is underway. We are also trying to trace the taxi driver,” said AM Sonavane, senior inspector, LT Marg.

Shah had also alleged that the duo rendered her unconscious using a chloform-soaked handkerchief. She said they attacked her with a knife and after robbing the jewellery, threw her out of the taxi at Nafu Garden in Matunga.
