Court allows CBI to interrogate Gidwani, Thakur for two days

The CBI on Monday sought the interrogation of two of the key accused in the Adarsh Cooperative housing society scam — former MLC KL Gidwani, who is also promoter of the society and retired defence estates officer RC Thakur.

The CBI submitted that it needed to extract key information from the accused.

The court allowed the agency to interrogate them in the jail for two days.

All the accused arrested in connection with the scam were produced before the court on Monday.

The judicial custody of all the nine accused including Gidwani; Thakur, a suspended bureaucrat in Maharashtra government Pradeep Vyas; Major General (Retd) TK Kaul; Major General (Retd) AR Kumar; Brigadier (Retd) MM Wanchoo; a former Deputy Secretary in the Urban Development Department (UDD) PV Deshmukh; former principle secretary in UDD Ramanand Tiwari and former Municipal Commissioner Jairaj Phatak has been extended till May 9.
