The Pakistan government has made a request for Kasab and co-accused Fahim Ansari’s expatriation. Ansari allegedly made maps that the terrorists used to get familiar with their targets.

Pakistan has requested three Indian officials, two magistrates and an investigator to travel to Pakistan and testify that they had recorded Kasab’s statement. “This attitude of the Pakistan government is laughable and their demands are unreasonable considering that our judicial procedure is in progress,” Patil told HT.

The court has already tried Kasab and will give its judgement on May 3, he added.

Patil said there are 35 people who Kasab has named in his confession. Of these, 11 people are facing trials and 22 others have non-bailable warrants against them.

There is a Red Corner Notice by the Interpol against one of these 22 accused, which seeks arrest or provisional arrest with a view to extradition. The others have Blue Corner notices against their name. These notices aim to collect additional information about a person’s identity or activities in relation to a crime.

“In such a situation, the Pakistan government should first hand over those 35 people to India and then talk about other things,” Patil said. “Their government should respect our law and judicial system.”
