Help stabbed couple after they didn’t give him a B’wood break

The Goregaon police on Monday said that Narendra Kajal, the 20-year-old domestic help who allegedly attempted to murder his employers at their residence on Sunday morning, had come to Mumbai to work in Bollywood films.
The couple, Ashok and Parmeshwari Basak, both scriptwriters in Bhojpuri films, is in a stable condition and is recuperating at Nair hospital.
“Kajal ran away from his home at Sonpath in Haryana after stealing Rs25,000 from his family and landed in Pune. However, he was robbed and later met the couple after moving to Mumbai almost three months ago,” said senior inspector Arun Jadhav of Goregaon police station.
Because the couple has been working as scriptwriters, Kajal assumed that he could get his big break in Bollywood through them.
“But Kajal did not get the desired break. Instead, he was working as a domestic servant at their Motilal Nagar residence in Goregaon (West). He looked after their household work and also took care of their five pet dogs, and found it humiliating,” said Jadhav.
“Kajal had been working at the couple’s residence for the past three months. However, despite having promised Kajal that they would send his salary to his family in Haryana, they did not, according to the police. Because the couple did not pay him his salary of three months, he lost his temper and attacked them,” said Jadhav.
The police said that Kajal used to consume drugs regularly and was in an intoxicated state when he attacked his employers. “After being produced before a metropolitan court on Monday morning, Kajal has been remanded in police custody until February 4,” informed Jadhav.
Meanwhile, the couple are in a stable condition, said Jadhav. “Ashok was not grievously injured in the attack and is stable. However, Parmeshwari was operated upon on Sunday night at Nair hospital. She is stable now, but is going to be under observation until Thursday,” said the senior inspector.
