Mumbai: ‘Wife victim of conspiracy’
“My wife was a victim of a well-planned conspiracy,” said Sandhya Singh's husband, Jaiprakash. G Mohiuddin Jeddy reports.
“My wife was a victim of a well-planned conspiracy,” said Sandhya Singh's husband, Jaiprakash.
Speaking from Indore, where he is posted as customs commissioner, Jaiprakash said he would reach Navi Mumbai on Wednesday.
“A fairly accurate identification has been carried out by Lalit and my son. A silk thread that my wife wore has also been found. There is very little room for any doubt that the remains are of my wife,” he said.
“We will of course wait for the DNA report as just a few days back someone claimed that they saw her in a train at Santacruz.”
Jaiprakash alleged that his wife’s movements were being monitored and someone knew that she was carrying the jewellery.
“We didn’t receive any ransom call. I believe she is a victim of a conspiracy. Someone must have called her on some pretext and taken her away,” he said.
He added, “Her mobile phone was last traced to Wahal area in Uran, which is a sparsely populated area. She wouldn’t go there alone. She always had someone accompanying her.”
When asked if problems at home could have led to her leaving, Jaiprakash said, “We have been married for 26 years and had ups and downs. But I don’t think there was anything major.”
