Teacher held on charges of molesting teen

A teacher was arrested for allegedly molesting a Class 8 student of a private school in Borvili (East). He is out on bail.

The 13-year-old girl claimed that her physical training teacher, Sandesh Redkar, 23, had initiated “vulgar conversations” with her on two occasions and touched her inappropriately.

The girl claimed that on February 23, Redkar told her to accompany him to the storeroom on the school premises and allegedly made obscene remarks. The next day, Redkar took the victim to the storeroom.

“This time, he touched the victim inappropriately. She managed to flee,” said the police. Later, her parents lodged a complaint. “No such incident has been reported against Redkar but we are checking if he has molested any other girl from the school,” said Rajendra Thakur, senior police inspector.
