Three minor fires were reported in different parts of the city in the last 48 hours. There were no casualties reported in any of the cases.

According to the fire brigade, an electronics shop at Malad West was burnt down by unidentified accused in the wee hours of Sunday. The Malad police registered a case of causing mischief by fire against unidentified accused. The police suspect rivalry could be the reason as nothing was missing.

In the second incident that took place at Dahisar East, a short circuit resulted in a fire at a boutique located near Ambedkar Garden at 4am on Sunday. Garments stored in the shop were gutted in the fire.

In the third incident that took place at Powai early Friday morning, fire broke out at the residence of a senior citizen, Neelam Tipnis. Gold jewellery, furniture, television, and a few wooden items were destroyed in the fire. The total damage is estimated at nearly Rs2 lakh, said a fire brigade official. The official added the cause of the fire has not been ascertained as yet.
