Acting on a tip off, police laid a trap near National Park at Borivali and nabbed Miraaj Qureshi (40) of Uttar Pradesh and Radha Mittal (40) of Delhi with 350 grams Brown Sugar worth Rs 1.25 lakh, Anti Narcotics officials said.
The duo arrived in Mumbai on Friday morning and were supposed to hand over the contraband to a buyer in the afternoon, they said.
The two were frisked after being intercepted, police said, adding that the contraband was recovered from their purse and they were subsequently arrested.
"They told us that one person in UP had given them drugs telling them to hand it over to a buyer in Mumbai. The two were promised Rs 10,000 each once the contraband reaches the right person," an official said, adding that two accused were remanded to police custody till June 30. Further probe was on.
