Simon Dyson of England outdueled Richard Green of Australia at the final hole to claim a tense one-shot victory Sunday at the Irish Open.

Dyson was trailing by a shot when he birdied the 17th to draw level. He shot a 4-under 67 and ended with a 15-under 269 for the tournament.

Green handed him the victory on the 18th when he followed a poor approach shot with a three-putt for a bogey to finish second on 3-under 68 and 14 under overall.

The 33-year-old Dyson qualifies for next week's World Golf Championship in Akron, Ohio with the win. He called his Irish Open performance this week "probably the best golf I've ever played."

Scotland's Stephen Gallacher was third with a round of 3-under 68 and 12 under overall.

An ugly double bogey on 11th hole made Indian Jeev Milkha Singh finish. tied at 11th. Shiv Kapur, with two bogeys and one double bogey, finish tied 40th.

Gangjee, Chopra slip at nationwide
Utah: Rahil Gangjee shot a disappointing one-over 72 in the third round and slipped 20 places to tied 54th at the Utah Championships golf tournament.

India-origin Swede golfer Daniel Chopra slipped even more to tied 62nd, down from tied 34th at midway stage.

JJ Killeen continued to hold a share of the lead and he was joined by Jeff Gove (67).
