After accusing actor Amitabh Bachchan of having a hand in the anti-Sikh riots that shook Delhi in November 1984, Bibi Jagdish Kaur despite being confined to a wheelchair, is all set to perform in a Punjabi film that deals with the period of turmoil and bloodshed in Punjab after Operation Bluestar.

A prime witness in a riots case against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, Bibi Jagdish Kaur will be seen in the film, ‘Aazaadi, The Freedom’, which is scheduled to release on June 19.

The film, directed by Devi Sharma, is being produced by Tarsem Singh Bhatti. This is Devi Sharma’s maiden film venture, as in the past he has only directed Punjabi plays.

Bibi Jagdish Kaur, who currently resides in Amritsar, had suffered during the riots when she was residing in the national capital. Her husband was set on fire in front of her eyes, while her one son and two brothers were also killed. In all, she lost seven relatives during the riots.
