3 Punjabi Varsity clerks booked
A case of forgery has been registered against three Punjabi University officials and a student on the recommendation of the varsity brass. Those booked include Parampal (senior clerk), Chanchal Rani (clerk), Ritu Kaushal (cleark) and Sushil Gupta (student).
A case of forgery has been registered against three Punjabi University officials and a student on the recommendation of the varsity brass. Those booked include Parampal (senior clerk), Chanchal Rani (clerk), Ritu Kaushal (cleark) and Sushil Gupta (student).
As per the FIR, Sushil Gupta, a student of BSc got low marks in the exam. He, through some middleman, approached senior clerk Parampal, who, in leuage with clerks Chanchal Rani and Ritu Kaushal, asked Gupta to apply for re-evaluation. After reevaluation, the accused clerks changed Gupta's marks.
As the news spread in the university, vice-chancellor Jaspal Singh formed a four-member committee to inquire into the matter. The committee found discrepancies and recommended registration of an FIR.
The police are conducting raids to nab the accused, who are absconding.
