After the clash, the police had registered a case under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapons) and 149 (offence committed by member of unlawful assembly) of the IPC and sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act against nine people by name and 10 others on the complaint of Amrik Singh, a resident of Gurdwara Baba Jiwan Singh Tarna Dal, Salem Tabri (Ludhiana), at Islamabad police station here.

Six persons were injured after a clash took place between two groups of nihangs while they were observing Bandi Chhor Diwas here on October 24.

As per the police, the clash took place due to a dispute over headship of the Panthic Dashmesh Tarna Dal, Ludhiana, between Sher Singh Sodhi and Major Singh, both of whom claim to be the heads.
The police claimed that the Sodhi group resorted to firing, in which six persons were injured.
The police have already arrested seven persons, including Sodhi.
