Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Prem Kumar Dhumal on Wednesday hailed the announcement of Lok Sabha elections in the country, adding that the party would form its government at the Centre.
Talking to HT over the phone, Dhumal said the party had been ready for the elections for a long time, and it would win all four Lok Sabha seats in the state with “great margins”.
Prem Kumar Dhumal, who is recovering from viral fever at his Samirpur residence, said the decision of the Election Commission was a “welcome step” and was expected much earlier.
Prem kumar added that the party had already announced the names of three candidates in the state, and the name of the fourth candidate from Mandi would be announced within two days.
Accusing the Congress of indulging in 'gimmicks' by laying foundation stones and inaugurating projects across the state, Prem Kumar Dhumal added that it would “not yield any favorable results for the party, and it would taste the worst defeat at the hands of the BJP”.
