Currently busy with the preparations for his wedding, 27-year-old Sanam will return on the circuit post-marriage. Last week, Sanam and Kanika visited the CLTA Complex, where Sanam had spent his formative years before putting Chandigarh on the tennis map with his exploits at both national and international scene, for a prewedding shoot.

Sanam first hit the headlines when he paired up with his long-time friend Somdev Devvarman to clinch gold in doubles category at Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010. He also added the team bronze to his kitty. Sanam went on to bag silver in doubles in the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon.

He then represented India in the Davis Cup at his home court in 2012 in the 5-0 whitewash of New Zealand. Sanam, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in Haryana Police, is currently at 277 in ATP singles’ rankings.

This year Sanam won three futures titles and added the doubles title at Bangalore Challenger with Saketh Myneni.
