Sunita Singh, the principal of the said school, had submitted a report to the DEO office on Thursday itself in which a detailed information of the incident and the student’s past record was given. The report also demanded strict action against the Class-12 student.

Misbehaved with teachers: Councillor

In the inquiry conducted by the DEO’s office, it emerged that the student was a habitual offender. The school provided a detailed report of the past behaviour of the student, in which it was said that the student on many occasions had misbehaved with teachers and had apologised on several occasions.

Counsellor of the school, Suman, said, “The student is a habitual offender. He has misbehaved with teachers on many occasions for which his father was called every once in a while to the school.” She further said, “Just three or four days ago, the student had argued with a teacher.”

DEO, Anujit Kaur, said, “I am yet to read the full inquiry report. The report will be submitted to Director School Education next week for deliberation.”She also said that the student’s parents did not come to the school or the education department. “We wish that they participate in the inquiry so that we can have their version too,” she said. The student’s father, Subodh Jha, had accused the teacher of using offensive terms such as “drug addict” and Bihari to address his son, which ultimately led to an outburst in the form of the said incident. He said that he had even contacted the principal regarding this.

The principal, however, denied the allegations, maintaining that she did not received any such complaint from the father.

Jha, meanwhile, said that his son is still missing and did not come home ever since the incident. He added that he has been attending to his sick daughter, who is admitted at GMCH-32 and so could not go to meet the school principal who had called him on Friday. Meanwhile, a daily diary report (DDR) was registered by the victim teacher. Other teachers of the school said that the father of the boy works in a police department, due to which they faced problems in filing a complaint.Education secretary, BL Sharma, said, “I had talked to higher officials yesterday so that an FIR is registered. We wish that action is taken as per law.”

Students scale the boundary wall to bunk school

When the Hindustan Times correspondents visited the school, the team noticed several students scaling the school’s boundary wall to get to an adjoining park during school hours. A bench has also been placed for support near the spot where the boundary wall was broken. A resident of the area said that students can often be seen scaling the walls to bunk school. The resident added that students can also be seen smoking.

Bhupinder Singh, another resident, said, “The students use foul language and fight with each other. Local residents do not send their children to these parks because of this.”
