"The parliamentary elections of 2014 will wipe out the Congress. The decimation of the Congress in Punjab has had nationwide repercussions as the findings of various TV channels suggested that the NDA will emerge victorious in the 2014 parliamentary elections," he added.

The public relations minister stressed that the confidence the ruling alliance enjoys in the hearts of the people of Punjab is over and above the tall claims of the Congress.

The Congress, which once said it was self-sufficient, joined hands with various anti-Akali parties but all the permutations and combinations of the Congress fell flat, Majithia said.

Thanking the voters of the Majithia constituency for their unflinching support, the minister promised that in the forthcoming parliamentary elections, the ruling alliance will field a strong candidate worthy of minister's post in the union cabinet so that the problems of the farmers and residents of the border area are raised properly at the Centre.

As the president of the Youth Akali Dal, he proudly informed that the young candidates fielded by YAD in zila parishad and block samitis polls have performed brilliantly and have won with huge margins.

Later, Majithia honoured the victorious candidates in the polls from Majitha constituency.

Earlier, the 'bhog' of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was held at Gurdwara Baba Budha Sahib to express gratitude to the Almighty.
