Four persons including one woman died after the car in which they were plying met with an accident near Behman Dewana village near here on Bathinda-Malout road on Monday morning.
Four persons including one woman died after the car in which they were plying met with an accident near Behman Dewana village near here on Bathinda-Malout road on Monday morning.
The accident occurred at about 6:45 am when a Nissan Teana car bearing temporary registration number PB 22 G 6141 had a head on collision with a canter bearing registration number RJ 13 G A 0713. The car was coming towards Bathinda while canter was heading towards Malout.
The impact of the accident was so high that woman victim was beheaded while arm of another victim was copped off the body and the bodies of victims were scattered at the accident site.
The victims have been identified as Sandeep Singh and his wife Mandeep Kaur, Gurvinder Singh and Amrit Pal Singh. All are under thirty age group. Sandeep and Mandeep were married about a month ago only and the car was gifted to him by his in-laws. Navdeep Kaur was injured seriously and has been admitted to a private hospital in Bathinda where her situation is stated to be critical. The victims are related to each other.
SHO, Sadar police station, inspector Gurjant Singh said that the family members of the victims who reached here after been informed told that all were heading towards Chandigarh in connection of work related to passport of injured victim.
Police have registered a case under section 304 A against Pawan Kumar a resident of Jakhar colony in Sri Ganga Nagar district of Rajatshan and was driving the canter for causing death due to negligence. He escaped the spot after the incident.
