The Punjab government will supply 10-lakh free saplings of eucalyptus, poplar and other trees to general public various educational institutions to boost greenery in the state, forest and wildlife minister Chunni Lal Bhagat has stated here on Wednesday.

In the statement, he also highlighted that the Greening Punjab mission was aimed at enhancing the state’s tree cover from 8% to 15%. The registered NGOs (non-government organisations) and religious institutions would get the saplings in the financial year 2014-15, he added.
