Justice Krishna Murari set to be chief justice of Punjab and Haryana high court

He will replace chief justice SJ Vazifdar, who retires on May 3.
Justice Krishna Murari, second senior-most judge at Allahabad high court, is set to become chief justice of the Punjab and Haryana high court.
Sources said his name was cleared by the Supreme Court collegium recently and sent to the central government for consideration.

Born in 1958, justice Murari mainly practised on the civil side, before his elevation. He became additional judge of Allahabad high court on January 7, 2004 and a permanent judge on August 18, 2005. He retires in July 2020.
