Man dies as auto hits scooter

A man, who was injured when an auto-rickshaw rammed into his scooter on Saturday, succumbed to his injuries at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Ashwinder Singh of Kitchlu Nagar.

Ashwinder was on his way home from the Ladhowal Road when the auto hit him. As a result he fell on the road and suffered injuries.

The auto driver fled the spot with his vehicle. The passersby rushed the injured to hospital.

Inspector Surinder Mohan, station house officer of Haibowal police station, said the police were trying to identify the auto driver.
