“Punjab PCS mains exam datesheet has been released by the PPSC and a total of seven papers will be conducted over a span of seven days. Only one paper will be held on a single day. This is unlike the UPSC which conducts two papers in a day,” a Chandigarh-based UPSC exam trainer said.
The examination includes four general studies paper and one paper each for an essay , English and Punjabi.
“28,830 candidates registered for the PCS preliminary exam which was conducted on December 12, 2015. The highest marks scored were 82.25% (329 out of 400) which was the highest in the last three years,” the trainer added.
622 candidates from the general category have been declared successful to appear in the mains. Cut-off for the general category was 266.50. 402 candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/BC/BM) qualified with the cut-off for the reserved category being 252.50. A total of 130 ex-servicemen category candidates also qualified for the mains (cut off 131.50).
