'Quality education must to make India global power'

Revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia has said that quality education was the need of hour to create better human resources to make India a global power.

He also exhorted the students to use their knowledge to make India a strong nation.

He was delivering the convocation address at the Cordia Group of Institutes at Sanghol on Monday,where he awarded degrees to nearly 300 students of different courses during the annual convocation.

He said that students should use their knowledge not only for the self-development, but they should render services to society, needy and downtrodden sections, so that everyone benefitted from their knowledge.
He also made veiled attack on the Centre and said that the Centre had made several efforts to promote education but not in a proper manner.

He said that the Punjab government had done enough in this matter and Punjab had risen to third place from 14th place with great efforts from the state govt. He emphasised on the need for moral education to build students' character.

Speaker Punjab vidhan sabha Charanjit Singh Atwal, MLA Nirmal Singh, Chairman of trust Lord Diljit Rana, College director RK Sharma, baroness Angela Harris, deputy speaker house of lords, Former MLA Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal also spoke on the occasion.
