The SIT will be headed by additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP-II) D Sudarvizhi, along with ACP Deepika Singh and ACP Surinder Pal.
City police on Monday formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the sexual harassment complaint against Amit Sampla, alias Ashu, nephew of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Punjab unit president and Union minister Vijay Sampla, by a 32-year- old woman.
The SIT will be headed by additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP-II) D Sudarvizhi, along with ACP Deepika Singh and ACP Surinder Pal.
In her complaint, the woman stated that she came in contact with Ashu on March 23, 2016, through Facebook and they became friends. She alleged that on April 26, when she went to his house to talk about marriage, Ashu, his friend Sahil and others tore her clothes and snatched her purse, which contained three mobile phones.
She further alleged that they deleted all messages and pictures from her phones and also changed passwords to her social media accounts.
