Starvation, heat kill man in Amritsar

A man died of heat and starvation apparently in the E Division police jurisdiction on Saturday here. Assistant sub-inspector Lakhbir Singh said efforts were on to identify the victim. Amritsar on Saturday recorded a maximum temperature of 31.4° degrees Celsius, 4 degrees below normal; and a minimum temperature of 22.4°C, 3 degrees below normal.

The meteorological department has predicted thunderstorm with rain for July 19, and mainly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunderstorm from July 20 to 24 in the city.
