Udham Singh memorial ignored in Fatehgarh Sahib
The memorial of martyr Shaheed Udham Singh again saw the visit of some dignitaries on his 74th martyrdom day. However, the locals claim that Rouza Sharif memorial is not looked after well by the administration and is also not open throughout the year.

Assistant commissioner Harjot Kaur paid her tributes to the martyr on Wednesday. However, Fatehgarh Sahib deputy commissioner Arun Sekhri and SSP Gurmeet Singh Chohan could not attend the function, perhaps being busy in supervising rescue operations of a bus mishap near the Floating
Restaurant in Sirhind.
In view of the neglect of the memorial, some leaders of from a few local outfits like Punjab Youth Club have taken the initiative to collect about Rs 70,000 from public to maintain the place. Members of NGOs Gurpreet Singh Saini, Tarlohan Singh paid tributes to the martyr. Some local political leaders paid their tributes, but the spirit and the respect was missing.
