Work helps me move on, says Suzanne

Talking to Suzanne Khan reminds one of the words of Hollywood actor Bette Davis, who once said, “It has been my experience that one cannot, in any shape or form, depend on human relations for lasting reward. It is only work that truly satisfies.”

On her maiden visit to Ludhiana, Suzanne, who recently split from her actor-husband Hrithik Roshan, threw light on her latest interior designing project ‘Naira Goa’ – a luxury villa project based in Goa, which will be thrown open to the public in mid-2016.

‘Ludhiana people are open-minded’
Asked why she chose Ludhiana to flag off the promotion of her project in India, Suzanne said, “Though the first promotion was held in Dubai, but in India, I chose Ludhiana as the first destination as there is no question that people here have a great zest for life. They are always open to immerse themselves in something new and creative.”

‘Work biggest reward’
Initially refusing to talk about her split with her husband, Suzanne said, “I feel that when an individual is fully engrossed in work, one forgets all worries. So, I will always continue to believe that work is above all and it is the biggest reward in life, so I advise others to follow this concept too.”

She added that when she was 18, she had discovered that true satisfaction came from work, and everything else followed.

‘My sons praise my work’
Suzanne said her two young sons, who live with her, praised her designing skills every day, making her feel she could also try interior designing. “In their play, they talk about designing homes and even cities, and it seems like they are getting inspired by me and my work,” she said.
Later, her team members said she was handling her relationship with Hrithik in a “very mature” manner. “Whenever the sons want to meet their father, she does not stop them. She encourages them to stay connected with him and respect him. During the birthday celebrations of one of their sons, Suzanne and Hrithik shared a common platform so that the children are not affected by the split,” a team member shared.
