Vartika Singhal of Sacred Heart and Anorupa Chattopadhyay of Loreto Convent, Ranchi scored 98%.
All three of them aspire to become doctors.

“I have already started preparing for my medical entrance test. I want to get into AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Science),”says Shruti.

In ISC Science, Jamshedpur girl Surbhi Singh of DBMS School and Utkarsh Tyagi of Hill Top School scored 98.75%.

“I want to become a successful engineer irrespective of which college I study from. I am hopeful of getting a berth in one of the IITs,” said Utkarsh.

Girls outshined boys even in ISC Commerce.

Dhanbad girl, Simran Kejriwal, of Carmel School Digwadih has topped the state, and is probably the nation topper too, securing 99.25%
marks.

Simran wants to join Indian Administrative Services and serve the nation, she said.

However, contrary to the trend a Jamshedpur boy, Samarth Vishal of Loyola School, topped in Arts with 98.5%.

Almost all students passed the class 10 exams in Jharkhand with a negligible failure percentage.

As many as 10,000 students appeared for class 10, while 4000 appeared for class 12 exams from 96 schools in the state, said Fr. Ajit Xess, state coordinator for ICSE board.

The ISC exams began on February 9 and concluded on April 1 this year, while the ICSE exams began on February 26 and ended on March 30.

“We have almost 100% results in both ISC as well as ICSE from Jharkhand. Girls have performed a shade better than boys,” said Xess.

Girls maintained their dominance over boys even in the state capital.

In ISC Commerce, Aishwarya Thakur of St. Xavier’s Ranchi secured 98.5%, while Prachi Kumari scored 96.5% in
Science.

A total of 71,141 students (38,659 boys, 32,482 girls) appeared for ISC from 909 schools this year from all over the country.

A majority of five pointers (students with over 90% marks in best five subjects) in ICSE aspire to become doctors, while some have started preparing for engineering entrance exams. Very few students among the toppers want to pursue off beat careers and research works.
