Actor Venkatesh not part of Vikram Vedha’s Telugu remake

Producer Suresh Babu has made it clear that his brother, actor Venkatesh, will not be appearing in the Telugu remake of Vikram Vedha.

Actors R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi starrer Tamil film Vikram Vedha, which will soon be remade in Telugu, will not feature Venkatesh in any role, according to a statement released by the actor’s brother and popular producer Suresh Babu. Quashing reports, Suresh clarified that at present Venkatesh is currently shooting for Venky Mama.

“Venkatesh is not part of Vikram Vedha remake. He is currently shooting for Venky Mama, and an announcement about his new projects will follow soon. Until then, please don’t speculate anything,” read the statement. Not long ago, it was rumoured that Vikram Vedha Telugu remake will feature Nandamuri Balakrishna and Rajasekhar reprising the roles of Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan, respectively. For reasons unknown, the project never took off with Balakrishna and Rajasekhar, eventually paving way to rumours that Rana and his uncle Venkatesh are likely to star in the remake.

Directed by Pushkar-Gayatri, Vikram Vedha was centered on a loyal cop and a gangster who cross path only to realize there’s much in common between them. The film is all set to be remade in Hindi. It’s been over a year since news about the Hindi remake was announced. However, there’s been no concrete update since the announcement.

The Hindi remake, according to the grapevine, will reportedly feature Shah Rukh Khan while Madhavan will be retained to play the character he essayed in the Tamil version. However, it has been learnt that the makers are yet to officially finalise the cast and crew.
