India was ranked 50th in the world and 11th in Asia in the last FIFA women's rankings issued in March but they are not among 25 Asian sides, which figure in the latest rankings, released yesterday.

"16 countries that have not played an international match for 18 months have dropped out of the list, leaving the number of teams in this month's ranking at 98," the official FIFA website said.

"Jordan, the Maldives, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Cuba make a return to the world ranking after having been temporarily excluded from the list due to their inactivity," it said.

The next FIFA women's world ranking will be published on September 25.
