Sky Sports anchor apologises for remarks

Sky Sports football anchor Richard Keys apologized on Wednesday for his part in sexist comments that cost another commentator his job.

The scandal was sparked by off-air footage of Keys and Andy Gray making derogatory comments about lineswoman Sian Massey, former referee Wendy Toms and West Ham executive Karren Brady. While Gray was fired by Sky on Tuesday, the network has yet to comment on the future of Keys, who was removed from duty on Monday. "I would just like to say how deeply sorry I am for the part that I have played in causing this furor," Keys said. Keys, who has been at Sky for 20 years, added on TalkSport radio: "Whether I continue or not I have a decision to make in that respect."

Keys said he was being undermined by "dark forces at work here." New off-air studio footage emerged late Tuesday showing him making more disparaging remarks about women.

Keys apologized to Massey on Sunday and said they shared "some banter together ... and left on good terms.
