Leander Paes’ tweet to Serena Williams shows there’s no quit in the legend
Leander Paes is in no mood to stop defying Father Time any time soon, as evidenced by his recent tweet to American tennis legend Serena Williams.
Leander Paes, who is only a month away from turning 45, is amazingly still active in the professional tennis circuit as a doubles and mixed doubles player.
The Kolkata-born Paes recently made headlines when he recorded his 43rd doubles win in the Davis Cup tie against China, the most by any player in the world.

And the veteran is in no mood to stop defying Father Time any time soon, as evidenced by his recent tweet to American tennis legend Serena Williams.
Quoting a tweet posted by Serena in which she is posing with her daughter Alexis Ohanian Jr, Paes jokingly asked if Alexis for mixed doubles event in the 2040 Wimbledon.
One of the most decorated Indian tennis players ever, Paes has won eight doubles and ten mixed doubles Grand Slam titles. He also holds the record for being the oldest man to have won a Grand Slam title.
Son of former Olympian Vece Paes, Leander has also achieved career Grand Slam in men’s doubles and mixed doubles, besides claiming the rare men’s doubles/mixed doubles double at the 1999 Wimbledon tournament.
