Seeta Aur Geeta's protaganist Anjori Alagh is miffed with rumours that she got the serial because of her contacts in NDTV Imagine, writes Neha Sharma.

Anjori Alagh, the protaganist of Seeta Aur Geeta, a show inspired from the Hema Malini-starrer blockbuster of the same name, is miffed with rumours that she got the serial because of her contacts in NDTV Imagine. Earlier, Mouni Roy had been chosen for the role but she was later replaced by Anjori.

“I never knew that Mouni had been chosen for the role. Contacts don’t work here. You have to be good at your work. Maybe I should send these people my audition tapes,” she says.

Anjori, who was last seen in Vikram Bhatt’s 1920, says she chose this show because it was “a wonderful concept”.

“I am practically leading the lives of Seeta and Geeta. I am Anjori only when I am sleeping. In fact, even on the sets, people call me by my on-screen names,” she says. And even though she relates to Geeta more, she says she prefers playing Seeta “because she is so different”.

Looking back on her experience of meeting Hema Malini, Anjori recalls that her hands were shaking when she met the yesteryear star. “I was really nervous but she wished me luck and asked me how the shooting was going. It was fabulous meeting her,” she says.
