Shamita Shetty breaks her nose on sets of Jhalak Reloaded
“I fractured my nose while rehearsing on Thursday (July 23). It was a freak accident. I dashed into my choreographer Deepak,” she says.
Getting injured while preparing for a performance on reality shows is rather common, something Shamita Shetty will probably vouch for now. While rehearsing a complicated step for her dance act on an ongoing show, the actor broke her nose. “I fractured my nose while rehearsing on Thursday (July 23). It was a freak accident. I dashed into my choreographer Deepak,” she says.
Shamita injured her nasal bone, and was bleeding profusely from the cut that was a result of the accident. A surgery, which took place on Friday (July 24), was needed to set it straight. She adds, “They had to stitch the inside of the nose, and now it is in a plaster and tough to manage. The painkillers and antibiotics are taking a toll on my body, as I feel drained of all my energy.”
Her act also had to be changed to an easier routine, as she can’t dance with much vigour. “I am feeling terrible. I am supposed to rest for two weeks at least, and not be performing. But, as they say, the show must go on. I am sad that my act won’t be as power-packed as my earlier ones. Right now, I don’t know how I will dance with a plaster on my nose, but an injury won’t keep me out,” she says.
