Absorbing pressure, not pep talks, wins matches: Imran Khan on Pak loss
Imran Khan on Sunday criticised the Pakistan team’s tendency to wilt under pressure, saying that Shahid Afridi’s men would have to learn to play under pressure and that no amount of pep talk can lift their game.
Pakistan’s legendary captain Imran Khan on Sunday criticised the current team’s tendency to wilt under pressure, saying that Shahid Afridi’s men would have to learn to play under pressure and that no amount of pep talk can lift their game.
Imran Khan met the Pakistan players on Saturday morning before the World T20 match against India in Kolkata and spoke to the players. The news doing the rounds was that Umar Akmal requested Imran to ask skipper Shahid Afridi to change his position in the batting order, which has not gone down well with the team management.

“I spoke to Akmal before the match. The match is over so let’s move on,” Imran tried to put an end to the controversy while speaking to the reporters.
“I always try and help the Pakistan team in the best way I can. They need to understand how to play under pressure. One part of game is in the mind and the other part is played on the ground. So you need to implement this while playing. You can’t win matches by (pep) talks. The team has to perform and that’s the only way you can win,” said the World Cup winning Pakistan captain.
