By Wednesday midnight, 6,177 Indians will have been pulled out of Libya — just over a third of the estimated 18,000 who are there in the strife-torn African country. HT reports.

On Thursday, an IAF IL-76 will be flying to Cairo enroute to Libya to airlift Indians out. Another IL-76 is also being readied for evacuation.

Three special Air India flights went to Tripoli on Tuesday and brought back 1,045 people. Three daily flights shall continue to Tripoli over the coming days.
MV Scotia Prince sailed out of Benghazi in Libya with 1,188 persons and is likely to reach Alexandria in Egypt by midnight. Four special flights will bring them on Thursday.
