Six Algerian soldiers were killed and four injured in an attack by suspected Islamic terrorists, Algerian security sources said on Friday.
The soldiers were returning from a fishing excursion on Thursday when a bomb concealed on the roadway exploded under their vehicle. The attack took place in the small port of Cap Djinet, near the city of Dellys, about 60 km east of the capital Algiers.
On Wednesday, a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a barracks of the Algerian Republican Guard in a suburb of Algiers, injuring as many as six people.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but the group Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb has carried out a series of bloody bombings in Algeria since it linked itself to Osama bin Laden's terrorist network at the beginning of 2007.
