Malaysian police have detained three Pakistani men believed to be involved in the rape and murder of a 20-year-old university student, reports said on Monday.

The three men, aged between 26 and 45, were detained during a predawn raid on Sunday at a house close to the victim's home in the central Selangor state, district police chief Rosli Mohamad Nizam was quoted as saying by the Star daily.
The victim was found dead on Thursday on her bed, wearing only a T-shirt with her hands bound behind her back. Police confirmed that she had been raped and then suffocated.
The woman, said to have been a top scholar, was living in the shared home with several other students, reports said.
The three foreign workers, one of whom works as a security guard, were placed under remand for 14 days to assist in the investigation.
