WHO swine flu tally reaches 11,168 cases

The World Health Organization says Chile, Japan and the United States have reported dozens of new swine flu cases, taking the global tally to 11,168.

The global body says the US has the most laboratory-confirmed cases with 5,764, an increase of 54 cases since Thursday.

Mexico has the second largest number of cases with 3,892. WHO says Japan raised its tally by 35 to 294. Chile increased its caseload by 19 to 24.
Overall there have been 86 deaths linked to swine flu. Mexico has 75 such deaths and the US has 9. Costa Rica and Canada have one death each.
