Kunal Kemmu's Kanjoos Makhichoos will have its world digital premiere on ZEE5 Global on March 24, 2023. Directed by Vipul Mehta, the film presents before viewers the perfect dose of drama, comedy, and a whole lot of entertainment. Kanjoos Makhichoos features Kunal Kemmu, Shweta Tripathi, Piyush Mishra, Alka Amin, Rajiv Gupta, and the late Raju Srivastav in pivotal roles. The makers released the official trailer for the comedy-drama on March 13, 2023.
The film began its shoot on Ganesh Chaturthi, i.e. September 10, 2021, and it was completed on Dussehra, i.e. October 15, 2021. Rishikesh and Lucknow were used as the primary locations for filming Kanjoos Makhichoos.
Producer Kushagra Sharma sharing about the comedy-drama said, "The movie has a very beautiful message to it. Both the cast and crew did a great job of creating it. We sincerely hope the audience enjoys the movie as much as we did while making it."

The film revolves around an infamous miser Jamuna Prasad Pandey (played by Kunal Khemu). His wife Madhuri (Shweta Tripathi), son Krish, and parents Gangaprasad Pandey (Piyush Mishra) and Saraswati Pandey (Alka Amin) are tired of Jamuna's frugal ways. He never wastes a single rupee, from allocating one bucket per person for bathing to using one agarbatti throughout the month.
The family later learns that he was saving up money to send his parents on a pilgrimage. But as his parents go missing and the government announces compensation for their family, Jamuna Prasad loses his cool after the middlemen siphon off a portion of the compensation. Upset over such injustice, he decides to revolt against the corrupt system.
Plot
The plot revolves around Jamuna Prasad Pandey, who is known as a miser throughout the entire town of Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. Even his family is fed up with his penny-pinching habits. However, it is later revealed that he did it so he could send his parents on a Char Dham Yatra.
